Eagle Hunters Life

Spending time with eagle hunters at the beginning of winter is a privilege. To meet these wonderful people, you have to travel to Western Mongolia, near the Chinese border. The population here is mostly of Kazakh origin and still practices hunting with eagles—a tradition that was at risk of disappearing during the communist regime because it was banned. It is at the beginning of winter, when the climate becomes more severe and temperatures drop well below freezing, that the eagles can take flight and, in harmony with their trainer, hunt prey.
